Arizona participates in the PT Compact. Travelers holding an active multistate license from another compact member state can practice immediately in Arizona under compact privilege without obtaining a separate state license. Non-compact travelers must complete endorsement (4-12 weeks) and pass Arizona jurisprudence exam before licensure.
For travelers, this means you can begin an Arizona assignment immediately if your home state is also a PT Compact member and your license is set to multistate status. However, if you establish Arizona residency during your assignment, your compact privilege becomes invalid and you must apply for an Arizona license through endorsement.
Endorsement Process
Arizona uses a mail/pdf application endorsement process for physical therapists already licensed in another state. You'll need to submit your completed application along with supporting documents and the $260 application fee.
