Louisiana participates in the PT Compact. Travelers holding an active multistate PT Compact license from another member state can work immediately in Louisiana under compact privilege without a separate endorsement. Non-compact holders must apply for endorsement via mail with 4-6 week turnaround.
For travelers, this means you can begin a Louisiana assignment immediately if your home state is also a PT Compact member and your license is set to multistate status. However, if you establish Louisiana residency during your assignment, your compact privilege becomes invalid and you must apply for a Louisiana license through endorsement.
