Overview
Iowa has joined the ASLP-IC, but the state is not yet issuing or honoring compact privileges. Until Iowa begins processing privileges, travelers must obtain an Iowa-specific license through the endorsement process before practicing here.
Iowa has enacted ASLP-IC legislation and is a member state, but is NOT yet issuing compact privileges. As of early 2026 only Louisiana, Ohio, and West Virginia are operational/issuing. Travelers cannot practice in Iowa under compact privilege yet and must obtain an Iowa license (by endorsement or temporary license).
Endorsement Process
Iowa uses an online portal endorsement process for speech-language pathologists already licensed in another state. You'll need to submit your completed application along with supporting documents and the $120 application fee.
