Wyoming has joined the ASLP-IC, but the state is not yet issuing or honoring compact privileges. Until Wyoming begins processing privileges, travelers must obtain a Wyoming-specific license through the endorsement process before practicing here.
Wyoming IS an enacted ASLP-IC member state, but the compact is NOT operational in Wyoming as of early 2026. ASLP-IC privileges are currently only being issued for Louisiana, Ohio, and West Virginia. Travelers to Wyoming today must obtain a state-specific license by endorsement; plan ~5-8 weeks (2-3 wk review + 3-5 wk background) with no temporary license available.
Wyoming uses a paper application by mail endorsement process for speech-language pathologists already licensed in another state. You'll need to submit your completed application along with supporting documents and the $300 application fee.
License verification is handled through Direct verification from each licensing jurisdiction (mailed or emailed to [email protected]); ASHA/ABA certification verification sent directly from ASHA/ABA to the Board. Wyoming requires verification from every state where you hold or have held a speech-language pathologist license, so request verification early to avoid delays.
A fD-258 fingerprint cards (2 copies) submitted with application; fingerprints must be taken within 6 months of submission is required as part of the endorsement process. Submit your fingerprinting authorization as early as possible, since background check processing is one of the most common sources of delay.
After all components are received, the Board reviews applications on a rolling basis. Check the Wyoming Speech-Language Pathology Board website for status updates on your application.

Travelers should factor these licensing costs into their assignment budgeting. Many staffing agencies, including Fusion Medical Staffing, offer licensure reimbursement programs to help offset these expenses.
Wyoming does not issue temporary speech-language pathology licenses. Your permanent license must be fully issued before you can begin working on assignment. Travelers should plan their start dates accordingly and allow the full processing window before their expected first day.
Wyoming speech-language pathologist endorsement applications typically take 5-8 weeks: 2-3 weeks application review PLUS 3-5 weeks background check turnaround to process. The timeline is subject to moderate variability depending on the completeness of your application and external factors.
In the best-case scenario, processing can be as fast as ~5 weeks at minimum (2 wk review + 3 wk background, both serial dependencies).
Common sources of delay:
Wyoming does not offer an expedited processing track. The best way to minimize your wait time is to ensure all application components — fingerprints, verification, and any required exams — are completed before or immediately after submitting your application.
